Anyone! Help! I am on a new health kick, but the only problem is that I don't know how to cook healthy. I love comfort food. Usually if it has at least 1/2 cup of butter and a cup of whipping cream, then I make it (and love it). What do health conscious people eat? That tastes really good? :) I know there are lots of healthy good things to make, I just don't know about them. I would love to hear your thoughts!
I would like to hear them, too!!! Lately I eat celery and peanut butter all day and then by 10 pm all i want is ice cream and i usually give in...so much for healthy! I do add strawberries and bananas to pretend like my ice cream is healthy though! Ohhhh, Seth has been subsituting Vanilla Almond Milk for ice cream and he loves it!
ReplyDeleteI need help too. I'll post a few healthy recipes I like. But I need more healthy options.
ReplyDeleteI'm not the best at giving healthy eating advice... as I'm a complete carb monger.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm on a spinach kick lately. I add spinach to smoothies. We eat a lot of spinach salad with carrots, cucumbers, craisins, etc. My kids are really picky but they will eat fresh spinach leaves too.
I also have been experimenting with adding FlaxMeal (high in Omega3s) and wheat germ to waffles, pancakes, muffins, breads, smoothies, etc. I really just need to go all whole wheat and grind my own flour.
One of my friends recently got rid of EVERYTHING processed in her pantry/freezer. She read a book about healthy eating and decided to just eat more fresh foods. She did say that it upped her grocery bill to eat fresh and non-processed foods, but it was well worth it to her.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's recipes for healthy eating.
check out greensmoothiegirl.com. When I can afford it I'm hoping to get invest in a good veggie mixer and start making green smoothies everyday. And I agree with Heather, get rid of all your processed food and start eating more fresh raw foods.
